Start with a magic ring (or ch 5). 12 sc

You have 4 trc

*than pull up the loop, remove hook

Put hook in the first st (of your flowerpetal)

Make 12. Join with a sl st.

And pull loop through. Like this you make the puffy flower petal. Chain 2.

Round 2: change colour (main colour). Put hook in one of the space between 2 petals. Ch2, 2 hdc into the same sp, *3dc in the next sp, ch 2, 3dc in the same sp. 3hdc into next 2 spaces, repeat from *until your square is finished. Join with a sl st.

Then sl st into the next stitch, sl st into the next space, ch2, 2dc into the same sp. Now finish the grannysquare as usual.

Make 25 for a cushion cover 50cmx50cm. I used the join-as-you-go method for joining the squares. I love the continuous join-as-you-go. It is super easy and so much faster than sewing or joining finished squares. You find a lot of youtube tutorials on youtube. the video by „Hooked by robin“ „How to crochet the Continuous Join As You Go (CJAYG) Method“ is very well explained.

To finish off, I edged the panel with single crochet stitches. Since I don‘t want to crochet a back panel- and I‘m not very confident with sewing-I decided to attach my crochet panel to a ready-made cushion cover instead. I use the invisible matress stitch for this. The results looks best if you choose a cushion cover that matches the colour of your yarn as closely as possible.
(I found my cushion cover at IKEA. Same colour as the main colour of my yarn Atelier Zitron Trekking Sport col. 1401)
