Creating this cardigan was so much fun from start to finish! I loved picking the colours, crocheting all the squares, and putting them together like a cosy puzzle.
I started joining the squares into two sleeve panels (fondation peace under the arms), then added more squares across back and front to build the shape.
So basically, this cardigan grows from the sleeves outward! 🧶✨

Using a 5 mm hook, start with a magic ring (MR) or ch4, sl st to form a ring.
Round 1: Ch 2 (counts as a double crochet (dc), 11 dc into circle, sl st to complete the round, cut and weave in ends (12 dc)
Round 2: Change colour. Ch 2 (counts as one unfinished dc), 2 dc cluster in same stitch, *ch2, 3 dc cluster in next st; repeat from *to end of round, ch 2, sl st to complete round, cut and weave in ends (12 dc clusters)
Round 3: Change colour. Attach yarn in any space, ch 2, (counts as one dc), 2 dc in same space, *ch1, 3 dc in next space; repeat from * 11 times, ch 1, sl st to complete round, cut and weave in ends (36 sts)
Round 4: Using main colour, attach yarn in any space, ch 2 (counts as one dc), (2dc, ch2, 3 dc) in same space (corner), *ch 1, 3 half double corochet (hdc) in next space, ch 1, 3 hdc in next space, ch 1, (3dc,ch2,3dc) in next space; repeat from *3 times, ch 1, 3 dc in next space, ch 1, 3 hdc in next space, ch 1, sl st to complete round (4 sides, 4 corners)
Make 19 for one sleeve.
Now we have to crochet the main piece of our sleeve.
Start with a magic ring. (10 ch, sl st to join)
Round 1: ch 3, 2 dc, *ch 3, 3 dc, repeat * 5 times (you have 6 sections)
Round 2: 1 sc between ch and dc from previous round, ch 2 (counts as one dc), 1 dc between st space, 2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc into corner ch space, 1 dc between each of next 2 dc, 5 times, 2 dc, 3ch, 2dc into corner ch sp, sl st into 2nd ch. ( you have 6 dc in each section)
